Previously I mentioned that a number of churches and groups were trying to emulate the Hebrew style of worship and even their lifestyle. Unfortunately that is NOT what we Christians are supposed to do! True, it is nice to recognize the Jewish traditional things and to honor their being respectful to their faith – we should be as honorable to OUR faith. But, to become “Jewish” is counter-productive to our purpose here.
Ever since I was a little guy I heard derogatory comments about Jews. Most of those comments were from an uncle who was VERY anti-Semitic. They included jokes and not so pleasant descriptions. It was so negative that, even as a five-year-old, I knew (somehow) that no peoples could be that bad. I always wondered why he showed that attitude but I was too young to seek the answer.
